Ever encountered the questions from family, friends, and colleagues? Something like - What do you plan to do after graduation? How are you going to get a job? Theatre, a job in theatre? HA.
Finally, something made for you to help you think about those questions and maybe help you figure out how to answer those questions at your next family gathering.
Welcome to the first Post Graduate Workshop hosted by Sam Buckley and Center Stage at College of Charleston! A place to ask your questions, get your answers and give you options for your future to prepare you - no matter what you 'plan' to do after graduation.
The topics include discussing the pros and cons of:
Theatre Conferences and Festivals such as SETC, UPTAs, URTAs, and KCACTF.
Community theatre in Charleston and beyond, how to get involved in community opportunities.
Discussing Internships, Apprenticeships, and Jobs and where to start looking.
What even is equity? EMC points? Unions? - What you need to know about it if it is worth it, and how to get it.
Insight from alumni, tips and tricks they know now and what they wish they knew or did before graduation.
To conclude the workshop there will be a Q&A panel of College of Charleston's Theatre Department Faculty to help answer any questions about professional theatre and the paths they took after graduation.
We hope to see you there! 5 pm in Theatre 220 in the Simons Center on March 2nd.
